About TMD Foundation
TMD Foundation is Nigeria’s leading non-profit platform shaping the future of Tourism and Hospitality. With a vibrant network of over 5,000 youths across 20+ tertiary institutions, we connect aspiring professionals with industry leaders, initiatives, and opportunities that prepare them for global success.
As convener of the Hospitality & Business Summit (HBS), Nigeria’s largest gathering of tourism and hospitality youths, we have successfully hosted three editions, engaging over 3,500 youths alongside industry leaders and partners to nurture the next generation of leaders.
Since its inception, the Hospitality and Business Summit (HBS) has experienced remarkable growth in attendance, institutional participation, and industry recognition, establishing itself as the foremost platform for hospitality and tourism youths in Nigeria.
TMD Foundation maintains a strong and active presence in more than 20 tertiary institutions across the country, spanning universities, polytechnics, and colleges offering Hospitality, Tourism, and related programmes. Our institutional footprint includes Olabisi Onabanjo University (Ago-Iwoye and Ayetoro Campus), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Federal University of Technology Akure, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Ibadan, Ekiti State University, Lagos State University, Tai Solarin University of Education (Ijagun), Federal University Oye-Ekiti, and the National Open University of Nigeria. Among polytechnics and colleges, we are present at Yaba College of Technology, Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Federal Polytechnic Ibadan, Federal Polytechnic Ede, Lagos State Polytechnic Ikorodu, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Wavecrest College of Hospitality Lagos, and Yaba College of Technology (Epe Campus). Each institution has a dedicated institutional coordinator who oversees and manages all the foundation activities within the school.
With a vibrant community of over 5,000 Hospitality and Tourism youths across 20 institutions in Nigeria, the TMD Foundation has made remarkable strides in youth development and industry impact. The organization has successfully hosted three editions of the Hospitality & Business Summit, achieving an impressive 100% growth with each edition, while also partnering with top global brands and industry leaders to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. TMD Foundation has been honoured as the Youth Hospitality Foundation of the Year by the Institute of Hospitality (UK) and is proudly accredited by the International Hospitality Institute (USA). Through its structured mentorship and leadership development platforms, the foundation has hosted over 30 editions of its Monthly Virtual Mentorship Series, empowering thousands of youths nationwide. Nationally and internationally recognized for youth empowerment and innovation in tourism and hospitality, TMD Foundation has supported over 30 youths in securing internship and job placements, and awarded scholarships to more than 20 youths for academic excellence. The foundation has also fostered collaboration and creativity through initiatives like the Inter-School Cooking Competition, featuring participation from 11 institutions across the country.
